Closed-form representation for equivalent electromagnetic parameters of irregular hexagonal honeycomb radar-absorbing materials

In this study, a new closed-form expression is developed to determine the equivalent electromagnetic parameters (permittivity and permeability) of biaxial anisotropic honeycomb radar-absorbing materials (RAMs). Based on medium theory, nonmagnetic substrate absorbing coating structure are one kind material, then, effective properties irregular hexagonal (compressed or stretched) honeycombs obtained by using layered model. order validate effectiveness correctness expression, experimental tests numerical simulation adopted. The results show good agreement among tests, simulation, theoretical analysis within specified frequency range (2–18 GHz), which confirms validly proposed method. Compared with previous model, modified model more accurate for RAMs. Furthermore, it can predict permittivity (permeability) precisely without measurements great significance design
